Don't get me wrong. The form factor of smartphones is just right. Hardware is great and it's still improving. What's wrong is the whole idea of apps. I think the concept of apps is totally retro and totally 90s. What's worse is that the concept of platform ecosystem, encouraged by the app metaphor, is thoroughly evil in its nature and, if allowed to grow, poses serious threat to the Internet as we know it.

It should be as easy as clicking the first hit in the search results, but it's not. Perhaps people think that Google will take care of their blog. I am not so confident in Google's ability to keep my blog online. Too many people have lost their blogs to unexplained policy violations. Plus there are the usual hacks and screwups that can destroy the blog regardless of hosting quality.
I have been talking about self-promoting crap that Google stuffs into Blogger blogs by default. Now I will show you how to get rid of it. After completing advice in this post, you will have a clean blog that's all your own while still using Blogger infrastructure to host it.
If you think that you are promoting yourself on your Blogger blog, you better look more closely at the layout. Self-promotion is a lame reason to start blogging in the first place, but even if one is building the blog for more sophisticated reasons, it comes as an unpleasant surprise that Blogger blogs are first and foremost intended to be an all-around advertising device for Google. Another post of mine details how to get rid of Google's stuff on your blog. I will focus on describing the problem here.
